You could say this song was inspired by the sarcastic bumper sticker that read "Giant Meteor 2016." The joke, of course, being that the end of the earth sounded better than electing either of the two main candidates for POTUS in 2016. The chorus shouts, "Get Out. Right Now. This house is burning down" which is how a lot of us Americans felt in and around November 2016.
lyrics
Sit back and watch the world implode
I’m gonna tell ya right now
This is the mother lode
Unplug and grab your go-bag now
This is the end my friend
It’s time to leave this town
One mind
Turning political
One mind
Turning cynical
Get Out!
Right Now!
This House!
Burns Down!
Get Out!
Right Now!
This House
Is Burning Down!!
Lock down until the ash all clears
This is Apocalypse Now
These are the carbon years
Exhaust all of your energy
Avoiding conflicts of
Your ideology
One mind
Turning skeptical
One mind
Turning criminal
Get Out!
Right Now!
This House!
Burns Down!
Get Out!
Right Now!
This House
Is Burning Down!!
Time will
Find fit to
Unbind all our
Lives
But for now
Get Out!
Right Now!
This House!
Burns Down!
Get Out!
Right Now!
This House
Is Burning Down!!
